DUI Bail Bonds in Phoenix, AZ

Misdemeanor DUI, extreme DUI and aggravated (felony) DUI. We know the Valley's DUI booking process and move fast.

DUI Bail Bonds in Phoenix: What You Need to Know

Arizona has some of the strictest DUI laws in the country, and Valley police agencies, DPS and holiday task forces make thousands of DUI arrests every year. A first-offense misdemeanor DUI arrestee is often released after booking, sometimes without a bond. But extreme DUI, DUI with a prior, DUI with a child in the car, and aggravated DUI on a suspended license or with a third offense are a different story, and bail can be set in the thousands.

DUI arrests spike on holiday weekends, after sporting events and concerts, and around Old Town Scottsdale, Mill Avenue and Westgate. We staff those nights. Our agents understand the difference between a city DUI case headed to municipal court, a DPS freeway case headed to a justice court, and an aggravated DUI felony headed to Superior Court, and we post the bond where it needs to go.

How We Handle DUI Bail Bonds

1

Step 1

We confirm the arresting agency and where the person is held: a city holding facility, or the 4th Avenue Jail after a county booking.

2

Step 2

We confirm the bail amount from the initial appearance and send you the paperwork for e-signature.

3

Step 3

We post the bond, track the release and remind you about the court date and the MVD implied-consent deadline that starts running at arrest.

What a Bail Bond Costs in Arizona

Arizona bail bond premiums are set by the surety company's rate filing with the Arizona Department of Insurance and Financial Institutions. The standard rate is 10% of the bail amount, so a $5,000 bail costs about $500 and a $20,000 bail costs about $2,000. The premium is our fee for posting the full bail and is not refunded when the case ends. Arizona law does not allow a bail agent to charge interest on the premium, and we never add night, weekend or holiday surcharges.

On very small bonds, surety schedules set a minimum premium. If paying the full cash bond yourself would cost you less, we will say so. For larger bonds we may ask for collateral or a qualified cosigner, and every requirement is disclosed in writing before you commit. Use our bail bond calculator to estimate the premium, or read about payment plans and collateral.

DUI Bail Bonds Questions

How much is bail for a DUI in Arizona?

It varies by court and history. Many first-offense misdemeanor DUI defendants are released without a monetary bond. Extreme DUI, repeat DUI and aggravated DUI can carry bail from a few thousand dollars to $25,000 or more. Our premium is a percentage of whatever the court sets.

Is aggravated DUI a felony in Arizona?

Yes. Under A.R.S. 28-1383, DUI on a suspended or revoked license, a third DUI within 84 months, DUI with a child under 15 in the vehicle, or DUI while required to have an ignition interlock is a felony handled in Superior Court. Bail is set at the initial appearance like any other felony.

Do I lose my license right away after a DUI arrest?

Arizona's admin per se and implied consent laws start a separate MVD process at arrest, with a short window to request a hearing. That is a legal matter for a DUI attorney, and we encourage every client to speak with one immediately.
