Posting Bail for Someone at Pima County Jail
Bail for a county inmate is set by a judicial officer, usually at the initial appearance held within 24 hours of arrest. Once the amount is set, our agent confirms where the county accepts the bond (the jail or the court of record), prepares the surety bond and posts it. You sign and pay electronically, so you do not have to travel to the county seat. Release is processed by the jail after the bond is accepted. The Sheriff's Department publishes a court and bond information page and a jail records line at (520) 351-8228 for questions about a specific inmate.
Tips for Families
- Use the Sheriff's online inmate lookup to confirm the booking before you call us; it lists everyone currently held at the complex.
- Pima County Pretrial Services screens many arrestees for release without a bond. If the person is released to Pretrial Services, no bond is needed.
- The complex is on Silverlake Road just west of Interstate 10, south of downtown Tucson.

Where do you post bail in Phoenix?
Bonds for anyone in Maricopa County custody are posted in person at the 4th Avenue Jail Bond and Fine Room, 201 S 4th Avenue, Phoenix, at the northwest corner of the building. The county does not accept bonds electronically. Our agent handles the posting so you do not have to.
How long after posting bail is someone released from Maricopa County jail?
The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office states that release processing can take up to 24 hours after a bond is posted. In practice, release from the 4th Avenue Jail often takes two to eight hours, and releases from the Durango complex jails (Lower Buckeye, Estrella, Towers, Watkins) can take longer because the release order must reach that facility. Weekend nights and holidays are slowest.
