Transfer Bonds: Out-of-State and Out-of-County Bail

Arrested in Arizona while visiting, or an Arizona resident held in another state? We arrange transfer bonds both directions.

Transfer Bail Bonds in Phoenix: What You Need to Know

Phoenix hosts millions of visitors for spring training, major sporting events, conventions, and Scottsdale and Tempe nightlife. Visitors get arrested, and their families back home need an Arizona-licensed agent to post the bond here. We handle the entire process remotely: paperwork by e-signature, payment by card, and the bond posted at the jail while you stay where you are.

The reverse happens too. When an Arizona resident is arrested in another state, or is held in Maricopa County on a warrant from another Arizona county, a transfer bond may be needed. We work with licensed agents in other states and other Arizona counties to get the bond where it has to go. Transfer bonds involve additional fees charged by the posting agent, which we disclose up front.

How We Handle Transfer Bail Bonds

1

Step 1

We confirm where the person is held and which court issued the bail or warrant.

2

Step 2

For Arizona arrests with out-of-state families, we complete everything remotely and post here. For out-of-state custody, we arrange the bond through a licensed agent in that state.

3

Step 3

We explain travel, court appearance and attorney requirements so the person is not surprised by a later warrant.

Why Families Choose One Stop for Transfer Bail Bonds

  • Network of licensed agents nationwide
  • Out-of-county Arizona warrants coordinated

What a Bail Bond Costs in Arizona

Arizona bail bond premiums are set by the surety company's rate filing with the Arizona Department of Insurance and Financial Institutions. The standard rate is 10% of the bail amount, so a $5,000 bail costs about $500 and a $20,000 bail costs about $2,000. The premium is our fee for posting the full bail and is not refunded when the case ends. Arizona law does not allow a bail agent to charge interest on the premium, and we never add night, weekend or holiday surcharges.

On very small bonds, surety schedules set a minimum premium. If paying the full cash bond yourself would cost you less, we will say so. For larger bonds we may ask for collateral or a qualified cosigner, and every requirement is disclosed in writing before you commit. Use our bail bond calculator to estimate the premium, or read about payment plans and collateral.

Transfer Bail Bonds Questions

My son was arrested in Tempe and I live in another state. Can I bond him out from here?

Yes. We complete the application and indemnity agreement electronically, take payment by card, and post the bond at the jail. You never have to travel to Arizona for the bond itself.

What is a transfer bond fee?

When a bond must be physically posted by an agent in another state or county, that agent charges a posting fee in addition to the premium. We tell you the total before you agree.

Can an out-of-state defendant go home after bonding out?

Usually yes, as long as the release conditions allow travel and the person returns for court or appears through counsel where the court permits. Confirm with a defense attorney before leaving Arizona.
